Surgery
Anesthesia is one of the most important tools available today to
veterinarians. Anesthetic agents allow us to sedate our pets in order
to thoroughly and painlessly treat numerous medical conditions with a
negligible chance of serious side effects. The lack of complications
from anesthesia results from a combination of expertise, pre-anesthetic
testing to identify risk factors, usage of modern safe anesthetic
drugs, and state of the art monitoring protocols.

It is normal for you to have concern if your pet is about to undergo a
procedure that requires anesthesia. We are more than happy to discuss
any concerns that you may have pre-operatively, and only when you are
comfortable with our plan will we proceed with the procedure. Your
doctor will be available for any questions you have prior the
procedure, and we will call you when you pet is awake and recovering
comfortably.

Monitoring for the entire procedure includes continuous IV fluid
support, blood pressure measurement, an EKG (electrocardiogram),
end-tidal carbon dioxide measurement (ETCO2), continuous temperature
measurement, pulse-oximetry (measurement of pulse and oxygen received
(PaO2), warm-water circulating blanket support, and most importantly, a
dedicated anesthesia and recovery nurse. We combine the safest
anesthetic and pain management protocols to insure the comfort of your
pet. We also have the service of a Board Certified Surgeon available.
Pharmacy
For your convenience we stock a full pharmacy and also work closely
with a compounding pharmacy for those difficult to medicate patients.
